CTSOs IMPACT ON THE WORKFORCE

Today’s employers look for students with academic knowledge, technical skills, as well as intangibles like ethics, teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking, and the ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely. Students are able to build foundations that make them employable by participating in extended learning opportunities, such as job shadowing, internships, part-time jobs, and CTSOs. Since these co-curricular activities are an extension of classroom learning that happen inside of schools and provide “real-world” experiences, they help students see the ”big picture;” thereby, providing the relevance students need and the perspective employers seek.​
